Learn more about the wonders of Morning Glory Children
Morning Glory Children is a play-based Waldorf early childhood center specializing in strengthening, supporting, and nourishing young children between the ages of 3 to 6 and their families so they may set their own balanced and healthy course in the fast-paced world we live in.
Our programs are dedicated to the education of each individual child and are based in Rudolf Steiner's philosophy
on child and human development.
Our greatest intention is to build a strong foundation during the early years so that each child will be equipped for their journey through many years of schooling with abundant tools for growing into a well-balanced and confident human being who embraces life and a love of learning.
Core values
Because children learn through imitation during the early years, we have created a space that nourishes each child’s developing needs. Our beautiful classroom is filled with items which have been carefully selected to nourish and nurture the child's imagination. Each activity, each movement, every song, verse, finger-play and story, craft material and toy, each meal is prepared and chosen with the understanding of the importance of its role in educating this particular age group.

What is important to us
Care of the Senses
Both children and adults learn about the world through the senses but the young child does not yet know how to discern between what is a healthy sense-impression and what is less so. Every impression that is experienced at our school is brought in a manner that is appropriate for the young child. Our curriculum enhances children's sense of touch, sight, sound, smell and taste. One-on-one activities and group interactions help to build a sense of the individual as well as an awareness for others.
Importance of Play
Play is a child's work so, accordingly, the day revolves around play. Indoor and outdoor play are central to the child's physical and cognitive learning. Both fine and gross motor skills are experienced during playtime. Artistic
activities such as painting, coloring, felting, and many other crafts are offered and available with the teacher who is herself engaged in the activity, creating an environment where the child feels safe to join in the activity by
his or her own initiative.
Reverence, Rhythm, Repetition
Reverence, rhythm and repetition are the main focus of the kinder-garden program: reverence for all that is alive and in the world, rhythm and repetition because we know this is how young children learn best.
